I mentioned early that a bow can be considered to behave similarly to a spring. This profound aspect of this comes in the form of energy. The bow stores energy as potential energy as it is drawn. When the bow is released that potential energy is converted into kinetic energy which moves; the bow, arrow and string. Some energy is also converted to heat in the limbs from their deformation.
